CIOP, the Central Illinois Organizing Project, is a regional, faith-based community organization. Its faith inspired mission is to empower people to become partners in the social and economic justice issues facing families and communities.
CIOP is active in the cities of Bloomington-Normal, Peoria, Champaign, Decatur, Springfield, with offices in Bloomington, Champaign and Springfield. Some of the issues the organization addresses include: adopting a Living Wage for Bloomington city workers; creating homeownership opportunities; stopping predatory and payday lending and creating alternatives; and saving family farms and rural communities.
